Kid Friendly Vacations
If you have children, you might dread the vacation planning. You may ask, “Where can we take kid friendly vacations?” The answer is anywhere. Let your child set the pace and no matter where you go, you are going to have a great family vacation.
Most kids love to travel. If you make them the focus of the vacation, you can travel almost anywhere and the kids will have a great time. You could even choose to take the kids to Las Vegas. A great family vacation idea is to take them to the Circus Circus casino. They have clowns and circus acts or they can play the many carnival games and the kids will have a great family vacation.
Vacation time is one of the few times that kids get the uninterrupted attention of parents. In homes where both parents work, a family vacation may be one of the few times that children get to spend extended time with both parents present.
When we think of kid friendly vacations, many people envision spending four to five days dragging kids around amusement parks to meet the next princess. The kids are hot and tired and just want a nap. All that expense is not necessary each time for the kids to have a great time.
An inexpensive kid friendly vacation is camping. The kids get that undivided attention and mom and dad do not have to mortgage the home to pay for a vacation. Kids will enjoy helping with cooking and clean up at the campsite. They can carry clean water back or help set up and take down the tent. Let them be the center of attention and everyone will have a great time on the inexpensive family vacation.
For a great learning vacation, take your children to visit your state capitol. There they will see history in the making. While they may not understand everything that is happening, they will have a great time. Children also love animals. Why not plan a vacation trip that includes a trip to the zoo. You can visit the exhibits at a leisurely pace. This too, can be both a vacation as well as an educational trip.
If the kids are asking for that amusement park trip, go ahead and make the plans to take them. These trips do not have to be the torture for children that some parents make them. Plan to arrive at the park early in the day. Rent a stroller for the day for younger children. Use them to carry extra bags when the child wants to walk and for the child when he is tired. Plan to have plenty of rest and snack breaks. About half an hour before the child’s normal nap break, you should start working your way back toward the hotel. Take a couple of hours for everyone to rest. After that, head back to the park for a couple of hours and be done for the day.
